If you’re looking to zip up your tuna, this recipe pops! The Gochujang dressing has just enough heat to round out the bright citrus flavors from the lime and the earthiness of the sesame seeds. This is a fish dish that’s a total showstopper, yet easy enough to bust out on a weeknight.
Sesame Crusted Tuna with Spicy Gochujang Dressing
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS:
4 8oz Tuna Steaks
1 cup sesame seeds
2 Tbps Gochujang
1/4 cup Soy Sauce, Shoyu, or Tamari
2 Tbsp Rice Wine or Sushi Vineger
1 tsp Chili or Sesame Oil
Juice of half a lime + wedges for garnish
Mixed Greens
Fresh herbs for garnish (chives, cilantro, thai basil)
2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
Salt
DIRECTIONS:
Combine Gochujan, soy sauce, vinegar, chili or sesame oil, and lime juice to a mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Reserve until needed.
Dredge your tuna steaks in your sesame seeds to fully coat the steaks.
Pre-heat a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Just as the pan begins to smoke, add vegetable oil and tuna steaks. Sear the steaks for approximately 1 minute per side. Remove the tuna and allow to rest for 2-3 minutes for easier slicing.
Slice tuna and serve over mixed greens. Drizzle with Gochujang dressing and garnish with lime wedges and fresh herbs.
